The stain in done. I love it! I spent so much angst and time having 15 different pieces of wood stained and trying to figure out which would be the one that I love and I hit the bulls eye! I am so grateful. This is not the thing you would want to hate in a new house. It is absolutely what I wanted. Yes, Joe was happy, too! So here is my absolutely favorite cabinet in the entry to the master bath (on the right) and walk in (on the left).
The deck is done pretty much, just a small thing to finish by the concrete at the bottom of the stairs. Would have preferred a railing that matched the trim, but overall no biggie.
They finished under the entry, along with all of the peaks. Tea Chest is the Sherwin Williams color.
The sidewalk and apron under the garage are in. Driveway is suppose to be in this next week.
I am not sure I mentioned yet, how much I LOVE this paint color, Burnished Walnut at Sherwin Williams. This is the door in the school room.
The flash on this pic, makes the stain look lighter than it actually is. This is the kids bath.
And here are the peaks which are all done, but again this pic is the pits. What is happening with my camera!!
I have learned a few things in this process and one is that they put the stain on after the wood is on, then they do the enamel on the kitchen cabinets, then the floor goes in AND THEN THE PAINT GOES ON! I was looking at the painter as he was telling us this like a deer in headlights - really??? So, you cover the floor up? Duh, obviously. I think the stone is going on this week and hopefully finishing the outside up. Still seems pretty surreal. So grateful.
